Dear Bright One …
Do you ever tell yourself you shouldn’t feel (or wish you didn’t feel) some kind of way?
I’ve done that. (I still do sometimes.)
It isn’t helpful, it’s not healthy, and it doesn’t feel good. Let’s dig into this together …
Feelings can be downright uncomfortable. But telling ourselves we shouldn’t feel them, or running from them, or diverting our attention toward something shinier only leaves the truth in us feeling unseen and unheard. And that is not ok.
This week’s IllumiNature Energy Reset message offers another important layer in creating a foundation of conscious well-BEing, from within. We must acknowledge and honor all of our feelings, not just the ones that feel good, but the ones that feel messy, complicated, and uncomfortable, too. It’s a healthy practice to be able to name our feelings, and to relate with them so that we can fully receive the messages and signals they are sending from our core depths, our soul, our inner-child.

Why ‘powering through’ can mean self-abandonment
~ And how to heal your way through
All aspects of ourSelves deserve to be seen and heard. This fundamental need is often one that goes unmet when we disregard, deny, dismiss, invalidate, or repress our emotions. We play this off as no big deal and tell ourselves to ‘grow a thicker skin’, and to ‘power through’ or ‘soldier on’.
Many times, if we tell ourselves these things it’s because we’ve heard these phrases or similar said to us when we were children. We grew up thinking that our feelings are insignificant and we can just wipe them from our experience and carry on as if nothing happened to make us feel some kind of way.
This is detrimental to our spirit, it is unhealthy to our overall well-BEing. When we do this to ourselves over and over again, we are literally abandoning ourselves. We’re telling ourselves we don’t matter, that our feelings don’t matter.
Our emotions are the very thing that help us to navigate more steadily and readily into true alignment. Our feelings put us in touch with where we are in or out of alignment. They act as a sort of resonance barometer, and they certainly tell us when something needs attention.
But we may have also been told to ‘stop being so sensitive, stop yelling, stop crying … you’re just trying to get attention’. Um, yes. We are. And over and over again, we feel like we’re failing inside because we’re not being heard.
This is a cycle that can numb us to the point where eventually we don’t know what we’re feeling anymore. Maybe we don’t even know if we feel anything at all. We can get so used to being shut down inside that we don’t know any different. This dear ones, is not what our human experience is meant to be.
How can our emotions lead us to our true alignment?
This week’s video message helps us lean into allowing our feelings, it helps us learn from our emotions and know that every one of them is on purpose and helps to lead us to our own higher wisdom.
- Our emotions help us dial in where we’ve abandoned ourselves.
- They help us recognize our needs and give us a deeper understanding of how to reclaim and value ourselves fully.
- Inside every emotion is wisdom awaiting recognition.
Are we ready and willing to accept, acknowledge, honor, relate, and listen to what our feelings are really trying to say to us?
Fostering healthy emotional awareness is key to living a healthy, conscious life.
We owe it to ourselves to flip the narratives that have had us abandoning ourselves. Whether those narratives started when we were little, whether they were directly fed to us, or subtly modeled and observed around us, or whether we’ve adopted the patterns and self-denigrated… it’s time to stop and re-frame. It’s time to heal, mend, and reclaim our full value and worthiness.
Our feelings are mighty teachers that can (if we’re willing to do the work and relate honestly and effectively with them) help us to restore balance and find our sovereign alignment as we navigate onward in this thing called life.
I’m in this with you! Feel the feels! Sit with them. Ask them questions and listen.
Be seen and heard for yourself, by yourself.
Healing begins here … and leads to the empowered, consciously aware lived experience we are worthy of. It doesn’t mean it’ll always be comfortable, but the feeling of fully living, embracing, and honoring ourselves is worth every minute!
